Let's Look Up… Because We Don't Do it Enough!

one girl's quest to document all ceilings she encounters from the slightly interesting to the epic. because it's random, because it's fun, because it makes for an interesting blog! :)

One day something occurred to me… we hardly ever look up. We look straight ahead. We look to the sides. We look behind us and we look at the ground. But when we enter a building, a room, the bank, the convenient store, anywhere, how often do we actually look up to the ceiling? How often is it the first direction that our head goes? Sure we might look up when we’re bored. When the building itself is something epic and awesome and we know that looking up will result in some mastery of architecture, but normally do we walk into a room, tilt our heads up, and check out what the ceiling looks like? No, I don’t think so.

That’s when I had the idea that maybe it would be interesting to start a blog where I’d just post up pictures of the ceilings of buildings I enter. Pretty simple. Pretty straightforward. Pretty random and kind of stupid too, but could be fun!

And just to add a little more of an interactive element, if you decide that you’d like to take a picture of a ceiling from a room that you enter, feel free to email it in to me and I’ll post it up too! Be sure to include the ceiling location, date, type of camera you used (phone, digital, professional SLR?), and any other notes as well. :D (email hoang.t.linda@gmail.com!)
